Hmm... Speaking of installation, it was today. But I'm going to start from the beginning ok?
Well, first of all, we the form 3's planned to make a movie for our performance. It was all set. We planned everything out and were sure that it was gonna be a blast! We started filming last Wednesday I think. First, everyone went home after school to get ready and come back to school for the shooting. We filmed a few scenes in a few different locations in school and that took like 3 hours? Well, it was tiring. We took quite a few takes. Then the next day we did another shooting. We filmed a few scenes in school and then we headed outside the school to shoot one scene. We then went to the park and shot another scene. Then it started to rain and we all went to Sakinah's house to shoot the last few scenes. After 2 grueling days, it was all over! And then, the next day some of us went over to Daryl's house to record our voices. It turned out to be a lot harder than expected and so when all else failed, we decided to put subtitles.
And then, it happened...
We discovered that one of the cameras memory cards was spoiled and that the files were no where else. Not on the computer, not on a file, no where. Needless to say, they were GONE. All that hard work just disappeared. And all our best scenes were in that memory card. When I found out I was going to burst out in tears. We spent so much time shooting and reshooting for no reason!!! But well, it was no ones fault. And there was nothing any of us could do about it. Me, Ashley, Nadine, Wei Beng, Li-Kenn, Firdaus, Azmeer and Subash sat down in Daryl's hall brainstorming about what we were gonna do for our performance since our movie just crashed and burned while Daryl and Kay Vin tried their best to find ways to fix the memory card. Finally, after a long while, Wei Beng came up with the most brilliant idea!
It was a talent show thing. We would all do something that we were good at and make it look like a talent show. We would have a few judges and an announcer to spice things up. It turned out great. I sang a slow English song while Wei Beng played the guitar (thanks for the song and for playing the guitar for me Beng!), Ashley and Li-Kenn did some martial arts, Wei Beng and Daryl did their bucket drum thing, Safura, Hafiz and Firdaus sang a fast BM song, Azmeer did a gay act and Firdaus played a BM folk song on the recorder.
It was good. Ben was the announcer and Leonard, Sakinah, Amirah and Nadine were the judges. That was it! That was our performance. Well, a lot of us kinda thought that it went better than the movie would have. So I guess we form 3 prefects work good under pressure.
As for the installation day itself, it started of nicely. The weather was great and not sunny at all. But when we went to the seminar room, it became terribly hazy and smokey!!! I couldn't even breath!!! Thank God that the weather during the installation itself was great. After it was over, some of the form 3's went for lunch while the rest of us waited for them to finish their lunch. After that we all went behind block C to practice our performances and get Azmeer or should I say 'Germany Sheraton' for his big debut. After that it was performance time. The form 1's did a drama entitled the frog prince and then it was our turn. It was fun!!! I must say, it was one of our best performances. Then the form 2's performed the song 'The show by Lenka' with a few interesting effects. The form 4's did and awesome stop motion film which I personally think was just downright cool!!! (good job guys!!!) And then the event ended with the form 5's who showed a few videos of their memories. And that was the end of Installation day!!! It was one of the best installation days I had been for I guess. Well, thats all for now!!! Pictures will be coming later.
